Migrants banned from working in taxi and construction sites in Yakutia
On February 8, the head of Yakutia Aysen Nikolayev had signed a decree forbidding migrant workers to be employed in some sectors of the economy. Restrictions will concern those foreigners who come to the region to work on the basis of patents.
According to the published document, the ban is set for 2021. It will be forbidden to hire migrants to work in 33 types of activities. These include agriculture, construction, food and furniture production, fish farming.
Also in the list were health care, education, scientific research. Even cargo and passenger transportation, work in hotels and trade were banned.
A similar ban has been imposed in Yakutia before. In 2019, it was also forbidden to hire migrants for various jobs.
