No virus in a taxi

No virus in a taxi

Moscow’s authorities have developed a three-stage plan of preventing the “importation and spread” of coronavirus infection in the capital. The 21-page document provides thermometry for all air passengers arriving in Moscow, disinfection of streets and building’s entrances. If citizens, infected with coronavirus will be detected, then plan B will be implemented:  city quarantine will be announced, all of the schools, kindergartens, universities, concert halls, markets, stadiums will be closed; disinfection of subway trains will be conducted every four hours. If the virus will spread, then a state of emergency may be imposed with a curfew in the city, the cessation of public transport, and a ban on leaving Moscow.

According to that plan, the metropolitan department of transport is required to ensure that disinfection must be repeated multiple times on a daily basis in taxis and carsharing automobiles.
The department has already sent letters to companies, providing taxi services. Those documents in many ways repeat the advice of Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) on "disinfection of vehicles for the carriage of passengers", adopted by departmental letter on February, 13.
It is recommended to process transport cabins with chloramine B, hydrogen peroxide, ethanol (at a concentration of at least 70%), as well as with “tertiary amines and polymer derivatives of guanidine”. Drivers must be provided with a set of masks (and should change them once every three hours), sanitizers and sanitizing wipes for the interior of the transport. At least twice a day, cars should be ventilated; wet cleaning should be carried out in the cabin, including the processing of door handles, armrests, seatbacks, video monitors.
It was announced to Kommersant newspaper by one of the capital’s carsharing services,  the representatives of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) told them to strengthen preventive measures. YouDrive and Delimobile announced that they intend to strengthen measures to disinfect vehicles. “We are discussing options for providing cars with sanitizers”, said Delimobil. “We will remind customers of all precautions.” The press service of Yandex.Drive declined to comment, the representative of BelkaCar did not respond to the request.
