Taxi aggregators and carsharing companies will be able to check driver's license online
The press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs told TASS that taxi aggregators, carsharing companies and other organizations that allow citizens to drive vehicles "will be able to obtain information about the availability of drivers' license via new section specially created at the joint portal of General Administration for Traffic Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and Gosuslugi unified portal of public services. "It is planned to launch these services in 2021", said the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to TASS.
According to him, such an automated inspections are primarily of preventive nature.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs explained that the provision of such opportunities to transport companies is aimed at preventing people, who are deprived or have no driving license, to drive cars. "Today the possibility of checking drivers by number and date of issuance of driver's license is implemented in the public access on the official Internet portal of the State Automobile Inspectorate (Gosavtoinspektsiya.rf)", noted the department.
Earlier the traffic police reported that the department is going to create a single digital platform, which will allow companies to check their drivers for multiple violations of traffic rules and deprivation of driving licenses. The database will contain information about all the violators: both Russian and foreign. Later, the Ministry of Internal Affairs has explained that together with the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media is already working on the creation of this open digital platform of traffic police. It is planned that it will start working in early 2021.
