In Lithuania do not find legal grounds for a ban of work Yandeks.Taksi
The Lithuanian authorities have not found legal grounds to ban Yandex.Taxi on the territory of the country. This was announced by the government press service on May 3.
According to the explanatory note, other countries, such as Latvia and Estonia, have implemented the cancellation of mandatory licenses for carriers. Such type of licensing does not exist in Lithuania. At the same time in Estonia also used the law on national security, pointing out that the use of this service can be dangerous to the lives of citizens. Since, legally, Lithuania has no reason to stop the cab service's activities within the country, the authorities decided to block the Yandex.Taxi application in the App store and Google play.
The activity of the Russian service on the territory of Lithuania was first launched in 2018. Due to the geopolitical conflict in Eastern Europe, Vilnius City Hall urged citizens not to use Yandex.Taxi, then imposing a ban on government officials.
