Law on Aerotaxis was approved by the Armenian parliament
From now on, only taxis meeting certain quality requirements will be able to park at the airports of Armenia. The draft of the relevant amendments to the law "On Road Transport" was adopted by the Armenian parliament in its second and final readings on Tuesday.
According to the amendments, only taxis with an A-class license will be able to park at the airports. The car must be under 7 years old, have an original fuel system (i.e. not converted from petrol to gas). In addition, the taxi must be equipped with a taximeter. Besides, the vehicles must be white, with Aerotaxi lettering on the sides.
The fee for an Aerotaxi license will be 200 thousand drams a year per each taxi park.
The remaining taxis will continue to serve passengers at the airport, but only on call: they won't be able to park in the waiting areas of the airports.
