Yandex suspended testing of unmanned vehicles in the USA
Yandex has decided to suspend road tests of its unmanned vehicles in the US state of Michigan, TASS reports.
“Delivery robots from university campuses (Ann Arbor) will be moved to other locations (countries) where we already have a presence or where we plan to launch deliveries,” the company said.
According to available information, as part of the Yandex Self-Driving Group, Yandex has been testing unmanned vehicles in the United States since August 2020. Ann Arbor became the second city - the first was Israeli Tel Aviv - outside the Russian Federation, where such tests are carried out.
Earlier it became known that Uber will accelerate the sale of its stake in a joint venture with Yandex
Yandex.Taxi and Uber merged the business in 2018, carrying passengers and delivering food in Russia and the CIS countries. Later, a division was created to work on unmanned vehicles and rovers, as well as the Lavka food delivery service and the Yandex.Drive carsharing service.
