A proposal to ban the use of aggregators by drivers with experience of less than three years
The Main Directorate for Traffic Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia proposed to prohibit taxi drivers with less than 3 years of experience to work with aggregators. This was announced by Mikhail Chernikov, head of the Directorate.
He believes that the access to the services should be given only to to the drivers with at least three years of driving experience, Russian driving license ( or a foreighn license, issued in a country, where Russian is the national language). Also, an ability to stop transferring orders to the drivers that have exceeded their work time should be implemented in the apps. The duration of the workday is established in accordance with the Labor Code of the Russian Federation and the limits of drivers' labor norms fixed in the traffic rules.
According to Mr Chernikov, taxi drivers often overwork as they use several apps at a time. “We are preparing a ROAD SATEFY (romanized: BEZOPASNOST' DOROZHNOGO DVIZHENIYA) digital information system. The aggregators will have an access to check information on any driver, including their past violations”, - he stated. Then he added that cases occurred when drivers deprived of their licenses have been caught by transport police.
The most part of the abovementioned proposals, mentioned Mikhail Chernikov, had earlier been sent to the Department of Transport and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
